Rice Crispy Squares

This simple and delicious treat is one of our favourites!
Ingredients
- Squares
- 3 cups rice cereal (finely puffed)
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla (optional) Topping (optional)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
Directions
- Squares
- In a large bowl, pour in dry cereal. Line a 8×8 pan with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla on low heat, just until melted.
- Pour the peanut butter and honey mixture into the cereal.
- Mix until incorporated.
- Pour mixture into an 8×8 pan and pat down.
- Add in optional topping (below), if you wish.
- Put the squares into the freezer for at least 25-30 minutes before cutting into squares. Topping (optional)
- Melted on stovetop or in microwave until just melted.
- Spread on top of rice crispy treats and refrigerate or freeze until ready to serve.
